The Palette Dining Table is built around a top that behaves like a painting and is made like cabinetry. The curved blocks of colour are not a printed film: each one is a different wood veneer, cut and inlaid by hand, which is why the grain carries on through the colour and the surface has texture rather than a finish.
Underneath, the register changes. The legs are stained a deep vintage brown, and the edge of the table is hand-carved into a wave — a scalloped profile that catches light along its whole length and keeps the piece from reading as purely graphic.
It is a table to eat at, work at and gather around. In daylight, with a coarse ceramic vessel on it, it holds a room the way an installation does; by candlelight it stops being a centrepiece and simply becomes dinner.
